Dennis’s team built a peer-to-peer (P2P) content delivery network (CDN) based on the WebRTC data channel, allowing their customers to install a simple bit of JavaScript on their sites and share content between other site viewers. This WebRTC-based CDN helps their clients reduce the cost of serving images and video on their sites while improving performance under heavy loads. Dennis explains how Greta.io works and provides us with technical insights into what they’ve learned from using the WebRTC data channel.
