As 2022 wraps up and we look back on another year in WebRTC development, it is amazing to see what has changed. One of the biggest things our team at WebRTC.ventures has seen in the marketplace this year is a maturing of what people are looking for in a WebRTC application.

The pandemic certainly accelerated this growth and will leave this industry forever changed. However, my goal for 2023 is to never mention the pandemic again!

A move from prototypes to post-launch improvements

When we first started in the WebRTC space seven years ago, we were building prototypes for start-ups with ideas on how to disrupt their industry with live video.

Now more than ever, people are coming to us with applications they’ve already built. Perhaps they are trying to scale it, decrease latency, or improve it by adding features such as recording or whiteboarding.

Still building, but for mass market launches

If clients are coming to us with new applications, they are ready for big time right at launch.

Major players are using WebRTC

Another fascinating thing is the number of major companies now using WebRTC to power their real-time communication. From Meta to Snapchat to Amazon Web Services, WebRTC is mature enough, reliable enough, and is supported by enough browsers to be trusted by the most major players on the web and on mobile.

And you should, too!

The beauty of live video is that the sky is truly the limit. We’ve only just scratched the surface of the amazing ways WebRTC can and will be used in a world that will forever sway back and forth between virtual and in-person worlds.

Whether you need to assess, build, integrate, test, or deploy a WebRTC application, WebRTC.ventures can be your trusted partner. We’re here to help. Contact us today!
