An early innovator in this space, VideoMagistrate was on a mission in 2017 to offer a complete cloud solution for courts of all sizes and jurisdictions to use for remote legal proceedings. They wanted an easy-to-use, FBI CJIS-compliant web-based platform that supported such activities as video conferencing, real-time collaborative document sharing, and electronic signature capture.
WebRTC.ventures delivered a robust video conferencing product for us back in 2017 that has been a cornerstone of our business ever since. The Needs
This SAAS-solution needed to provide:
- Accessibility: Available on any device and from any location, including rural areas, with intuitive UI/UX features.
- Secure Real-time Video and Audio Communication: 100% web-based platform with no software installation. We chose to use the Vonage Video API.
- Real-time Collaborative Document Editing and Secure Document Sharing: Enable secure exchange between judges and jails.
- Electronic Signature Capture: Facilitate unlimited live e-signature transactions.
- Form Conversion: Convert existing forms to online formats for Magistrate Warnings, Warrants, Plea Papers, Bond Conditions, Emergency Protective Orders, and more.
- Video Session Recording: Compliant with state requirements for legal proceedings.
The 2024 Update
As time went by, it became evident the need for tech stack updates and new features that allow it to keep up to date with recent developments and users requirements.
